Our Story

Gender Equality Perth was founded in 2020 by Perthshire residents Helen Reid and Rebecca McClune. Following Perth's first Women of the World event in 2017, a group of local women founded Perth Women's Collective, a place to carry on the conversations around gender equality started at WOW Perth. Every discussion held by PWC came to the conclusion: changes needed to be made in our society. In 2020, Gender Equality Perth was founded to begin to address some of these changes. The organisation's application to become a charity was approved in August 2020.

Governance

Gender Equality Perth is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO). The charity number is SC050401. The charity is governed by a board of trustees.
